I’m Derek — the creative behind Derek J. Waksmunski Photography LLC, based in the Florida Keys. My journey started in the quiet backwoods of Pennsylvania, where I learned to appreciate stillness, nature, and the beauty of light — first through photographing stars with my dad, and later capturing my first solar eclipse, a moment that changed everything.

Today, my work is shaped by both adventure and intention. From reefs in Australia and Bonaire to the waters of South Florida, every experience has deepened my perspective as both an artist and conservationist.

With certifications as an FAA Part 107 Drone Pilot and PADI Dive master, I offer something different — true access above and below the water. Whether it’s a golden hour session, a milestone moment, or an underwater experience, I focus on creating imagery that feels real, timeless, and entirely yours.
